Kingfisher

Left Hawksbury Junction with the promise of sunshine, the day did not disappoint, we were in shorts and tea shirts by 10:00. Stopped off in Nuneaton to post a dodgy water pump back to A.S.A.P.

Passing the entrance to the Ashby canal and the urban areas of Bedworth and Nuneaton the countryside gets rolling to the west with flatter farmland to the east.

Sue managed to get an in focus shot of the elusive kingfisher, we have been trying all year to snap one. It wont win any prizes but we are delighted with it.

We have tied up past Hartshill yard and above my latest favourite named bridge 'Apple Pie Lane Bridge'. We walked into the village and sought out a glass of Banks Ale in the Malt Shovel before tea.
