Sue wanted to visit a Lakeland shop, the nearest one being Shrewsbury, as we haven't been to this town before it was worth the hour's drive to get there.
The centre of town has lots of timber framed black and white buildings, steep narrow streets and alleyways. Charles Darwin was born and educated here. There are some pleasant walks along the River Seven which loops around the town and a fine castle that houses the Shropshire Regimental Museum. We had lunch in the West Coast Cornish Pasty shop before returning to the boat.
We are of to Wisconsin USA on Friday to visit my sister Yvonne and family. Then a week later we jump states to Florida for 2 weeks sunshine at Redington Beach on the Gulf of Mexico.
This evening we are going to try out the Three Crowns for our tea..............
.........we had a nice meal in the pub Lamb meatball pie for me and fish pie for Sue.
